Violin


      Violin is a string bow instrument. Violin has a case with concave sides for more convenient use of the bow. The case consists of two slightly curved wooden plates, framed by borders. In the case of violin fastens neck with pins. Local foremen made violins of non-standard forms and sizes too.

Violin

    The violin was created in XVI century, in XVII it has come to Latvia and became equalized to traditional instruments. Its spreading was stimulated by German, Czech and Polish vagrant musicians travelling in Latvia in XVII century. In XIX century violin became especially popular.
