Pipe

      Pipe is one of most ancient and popular instruments used in Latvia. Archeological excavations testify, that bone pipes have been played long before our era. In ethnographic materials of XVIII and XIX centuries wooden and reed pipes are mentioned.

Wooden pipe with whistle

    Wooden pipe can be cut from a branch, or turned. On the end a whistle is sliced or a reed is inserted. The holes are burned or drilled in the pipe.

Reed pipe

    Reed pipe has sounding reed made directly on it. The sound is original, sharp.
