Description: In October 1998 singing women and girls came together in
Kazdanga and, under direction of Ieva Helmūte, formed a folklore group.
Participants are from various areas of Latvia, but life has brought them to
Kazdanga. Since 1996 the group manages Irisa Kronberga.
The ensemble sings Latvian folk songs, hits, and chaffing songs too. In
Kazdanga itself folk songs are written down very little, therefore we sing
songs from other places. With pleasure we sing calendar ritual songs, play
roundelays.
The group has participated in Latvian folklore festivals, district
folklore holidays, and, of course, has intensively performed in Kazdanga and
the neighbouring parishes and in other parts of Latvia.
