Description:
The group is created in 1997 by director of Jaunlaicene House of people
and, in difference of already working female vocal ensemble, began to sing
folk songs. By time leaders of the group changed, and the collective came
nearer to folklore tradition, about which firstly had rather vague notion.
The participants began searches of local melodies, songs and roundels.
The collective participates in activities of the parish and the district, performs
in schools and old people's homes, regularly tours in Estonia. It participated
in the Songs and dances fest of year 2003 and in the festival Baltica-2003.
Since 1998 the group in Jaunlaicene organizes an annual fest
Near the granny's hope chest, in which already took part groups from
Latvia, Estonia, Russia and Lithuania.
